Six weeks in the Dominican Republic

A summer of service — children’s camps, the love of Christ in action, and a team that changes both you and the people you serve.

Why we go

“We go to serve children at summer camps, to share the love of Christ, and to support local churches. It’s a chance to serve, to grow, and to change someone’s life — along with your own.

What you’ll do

Three roles. One team.

A mission isn’t tourism. It’s real, daily work alongside the children, the leaders, and your team.

01

Camp ministry

  • Games, activities, and contests for the kids
  • One-on-one connection and encouragement
  • Day-to-day help running the camp program
02

Practical support

  • Preparing locations, moving gear, setting up spaces
  • Supporting teachers and ministry leaders
  • Keeping order and safety during activities
03

Teamwork

  • Building unity within the team
  • Stepping in wherever there’s a need
  • Keeping the atmosphere friendly and healthy

Real numbers

The cost, honestly.

Money shouldn’t be the thing that stops you. Here’s what it really costs — and how it can be covered together.

A
Round-trip airfare (US–DR)
$500–1,000
Approximate, depending on the dates, the route, and how early you book.
B
In-country expenses
$700–1,000
Lodging, meals, local transport, materials for the kids, and insurance.
How to cover it — our advice

Split the cost three ways: your own funds, support from your church, and help from family. That way no one carries it all — and it’s standard practice for missions.

Before you apply

What we ask of you.

A mission is a serious commitment. Please read carefully before you apply.

  • 01

    A servant’s heart

You put Christ and the team’s needs above your own plans. You work willingly, even when you’re tired.

  • 02

    Submission to leadership

You follow the direction of ministry leaders and local pastors. You stay flexible when plans change — and they will.

  • 03

    Respect for the culture

You dress and act in line with local norms. You represent Christ, the church, and your team.

  • 04

    Team safety

You keep leadership informed of where you are. No drugs or illegal substances. You disclose medications and any medical conditions ahead of time.

  • 05

    Documents in order

Valid documents to leave the US and return: passport, Green Card, and the like. This one’s on you.
