Ethiopia
Freedom in Christ has been working in Ethiopia to reach some of the most unreached and vulnerable communities in the world. Ethiopia is home to an estimated 26 million people from roughly 30 unreached people groups, alongside millions of Muslims and a large Orthodox Christian community in need of biblical discipleship and renewal.
Our work here centers on three areas:
To date, we have trained thousands of missionaries and sent more than 800 of them into different parts of Ethiopia. Together, they have planted more than 700 churches — some still under our supervision, others now fully independent. Alongside evangelism, we support feeding centres, clean water access, medical care for those who cannot afford it, and education for children and families.
This work grew out of a personal calling — a burden for Ethiopia's orphaned and vulnerable children that led to a partnership with local leaders, now developing into a dedicated project caring for children without a mother or father's care.
